My stripped-down theme is just what I needed. I am able to manually give the images in my portfolio the presence they require. in addition, I solve the throughline issue by breaking out of the rigid creative strategy statement format I had locked myself into and reorganize the content into a simplified problem/solution format. I break the solution part into two equal sections: creative strategy and visual communications.
In the process, I eliminate one of my portfolio pieces that just wasn’t pulling its weight. Through the portfolio format I’ve created, I am able to show that each piece addresses audience, exigence and constraints. The execution of the work employs the canons of rhetorical theory: invention, arrangement, style, memory, delivery.
